Drivers came into Kansas Speedway thinking of it as a wildcard race in the Chase.
The Hollywood Casino 400 definitely had some twist and turns, but the points race remained nearly the same as one top contender made the best of a bad situation and another top contender nearly missed catastrophe several times .

Bristol met all expectations in bringing beating and banging, helmet throwing and Race to the Chase shakeups.
Only two to go, to determine who’s in and who’s out of the competition for the 2012 Sprint Cup championship.
Due to NASCAR’s rule of four cars per team, the most that one organization can hope for is that all four of them teams make the Chase.
However due to affiliations that NASCAR allows, history could be made this year at Richmond as we could see five, possibly six, drivers with ties to one organization’s engine program, making the Chase.
That one organization is Hendrick Motorsports.
