is how history-maker Austin Dillon described the inaugural MudSummer Classic in victory lane after the race. Dillon put on a show by leading just about the second part of the race. He held off many charges by Kyle Larson, but Larson couldn’t get to the front on the final restarts. Eldora’s first race was a spectacular one and NASCAR’s return to dirt was undoubtedly successful.
The oldest pole-sitter in NASCAR history, Ken Schrader at 58 years old, started the race on the pole and led until lap 16 with Timothy Peters taking the lead. Peters showed that dirt experience was not necessary to do well by leading 23 laps until Larson slid to the top spot. Continue reading →
Daytona International Speedway will roar back to life this Friday Night as the Nationwide Series cars embark on the high-speed oval for the second time this season. Back in February, disaster struck in their race. A huge wreck coming to the checker put Kyle Larson’s car into the catch fence, tearing it apart. Many fans were injured and it became a race that many hoped to forget. As the series returns to the track this weekend, a safe and action-packed race is what everyone wants to see. But the name of the race has “firecracker” in it, so there should be some fireworks on display throughout the night. Continue reading →
To say Kyle Larson had a good day would be the biggest understatement so far this year. Larson had a phenomenal day where he led over half of the laps in the race and was able to hold off various drivers for the lead throughout the afternoon. He had never raced a lap in a truck at the Rockingham Speedway until this weekend; and by the end of a race, he looked like he had raced at the Rock all of his life.
