Matt Kenseth Wins at Pocono as Kyle Busch Runs Out of Fuel

Matt Kenseth, the unexpected winner of Sunday’s Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway, had to do a double take.

So did second and third-place finishers Brad Keselowski and Jeff Gordon.

Kenseth got a gift on the last lap of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race when Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch ran out of fuel halfway through the last lap at the 2.5-mile triangular track. Continue reading

Amid Qualifying Controversy, Jeff Gordon takes the Daytona 500 Pole

The Sprint Cup Series Qualifying session produced more emotion than anyone imagined and amid some crashing and controversy over the new format, Jeff Gordon took the Pole for Sunday’s Daytona 500 on February 22, televised on FOX at 1 pm ET.

This is Gordon’s 78th pole in 762 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts and he becomes the first pole winner to eclipse 200 miles an hour since 1987. Continue reading

Road America a Nationwide Series Road-Racing Jewel

A four-mile road course in Elkhart Lake, the track boasts 14 turns and elevation changes that exceed 170 feet in one lap. The famed course has hosted many series over the years, but this weekend, the NASCAR Nationwide Series makes its fifth return for the Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by Johnsonville, on June 21st with television coverage on ABC at 2:45 p.m. ET.
