Ryan Gifford Revving Up his 2013 Season

Ryan Gifford, 24, is competing in his fourth season for Rev Racing in 2013 and is currently ranked fourth in NASCAR‘s K&N Pro Series East. Gifford recently won the Blue Ox 100 at Richmond International Raceway, the fifth race of the series this season. Along with his win at Richmond, Gifford has posted three top-fives and four top-tens in just seven races so far, revving up his racing career.

Impressive stats for the young driver, named earlier this year, as one of thirteen in ‘NASCAR’s Next’ program. Being part of this élite group, Ryan Gifford is a driver for fans to keep their eye on in the 2013 season and beyond. Continue reading →

The sanctioning body is levying penalties to two NASCAR Nationwide Series teams as a result of their involvement in separate post-race incidents following last Friday’s race at Richmond International Raceway.

Thomas Costello and Michael Scearce, both crew members for the No. 2 team, have each been fined $15,000 and suspended from NASCAR through the next four NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship events. They have also been placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31. Both Costello and Scearce were found to be in violation of Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing. In the aftermath of the bombings in Boston, NASCAR is asking that teams be on the look out as they roam through the garage for any suspicious activity going forward.

A crew chiefs-only meeting was called Saturday morning at Richmond International Raceway to ask teams to be more aware of activity going on in the pit area. NASCAR is asking teams to be more aware of their surroundings going forward into the season and to report any irregular activity. Continue reading →
