HAMPTON, Ga. – To Michael Annett, the criticism was justified.
He was the anchor on the JR Motorsports roster, and not in a positive sense. While a succession of teammates won races and contended for championships, Annett was winless in two full seasons with the team, posting just one top-five finish (a second at Road America) in 66 starts.
This will be a truer test of the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship situation with Cup rookie Ryan Preece the only fulltime Cup driver entered in Saturday’s RINNAI 250 (2 p.m. ET, FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) – a race won the past six years by a Cup regular.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is revving up for the Rinnai 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 2 pm ET. Television pre-race coverage on FOX Sports 1 begins at 1:30 pm ET with radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Distance: 251.02 miles (163 Laps); Stage 1 (Ends on Lap 40),
Stage 2 (Ends on Lap 80), Final Stage (Ends on Lap 163)
