The Party Is On! Danica Patrick to Tour Talladega Boulevard, Award Prizes to Best Decorated Campsite

The world famous Talladega Boulevard, a strip of land in Talladega’s infield known as NASCAR’s “Party Capital” for providing fans with the most fun in all of motorsports, just got even better! When the Aaron’s Dream Weekend (May 3-5) rolls into Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will walk the Boulevard, mingle with fans, and award a one-of-a-kind “Coke Zero Tailgate Champion” trophy to the best decorated campsite.

After spending time on Talladega Boulevard last year during her first trip to the 2.66-mile unpredictable track, Patrick saw it to be “party central” for fans that featured fun, music, dancing, food, beverages and the most unique display of colorful creativity when it came to the décor of each campsite.

“I had heard about the Talladega Boulevard from my team prior to us coming to Talladega last year,” said Patrick, who will be a frontrunner for both the pole and race win for the Aaron’s 499. “So, we decided to walk from one end of the boulevard to the next, and I was amazed at how much fun these fans have at ‘Dega. It was unbelievable. After last year, I walked away saying how much I loved Talladega Superspeedway, as well as their super passionate fans.”

“I can’t wait to get back to Talladega and see the fans again on the track’s ‘Main Street’ in the infield. With the help of the track, as well as Coke Zero, there are some neat things planned for Talladega Boulevard. Race fans out there, make sure to bring anything and everything you can to decorate your campsite, and be ready to have some fun with it!  We can’t wait to see you!”

Plans are for Danica to award the “Coke Zero Tailgate Champion” trophy Saturday afternoon, at some point following the conclusion of the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

The most notorious strip of real estate in NASCAR, Talladega Boulevard, is an innovative corridor like no other and has been a mainstay in NASCAR circles since the track was built in 1969. The Mardi Gras-type atmosphere of The Boulevard, complete with strings of beads and shenanigans, is a NASCAR tradition that separates Talladega from other venues. It truly is a sight to behold how tents, RVs, trucks and trailers, with an abundance of ingenuity and creativity, can liven up a large crowd of people.

“Danica’s passion for Talladega Boulevard shows fans what an incredible place it has been in the past and what it will be in the future,” said Talladega Chairman Grant Lynch. “Our fans will get an opportunity to see Danica up close Friday, so we encourage them to really dress up their area and get ready for a party. We hope the “Coke Zero Tailgate Champion” trophy presentation and competition will become a new tradition here at Talladega.

“We are thrilled that Coke Zero has come onboard to support Danica’s effort as well. We are also excited to have the Miller Lite Infield Track Bar as a part of Talladega Boulevard, a perfect setting for our Saturday night concert with country music star Chris Young.”
