Great events lined up for Fan Appreciation at the Pure Michigan 400

MISLogoFans who received golden tickets in their ticket order can redeem them  at the Fan Appreciation Booth during the Pure Michigan 400 weekends.

These golden tickets offer many great prizes, including some special opportunities for the Pure Michigan 400 weekend.

“It’s important we recognize our fans that choose to come to MIS,” MIS president Roger Curtis said. “They allow us to make this a destination and there’s no better way to say thank you than with the golden ticket. We are race fans and it is fun to offer special opportunities to our guests.”

One of the biggest prizes is a driver Q&A on Friday, Aug. 16 from 5:30-6 p.m.

It is scheduled to include Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman and Joey Logano. Edwards and Logano both drive for Ford Racing, which recorded its 1,000th NASCAR victory at MIS in June. A Roush-Fenway Racing driver, Edwards has two wins and a pole on the two-mile track nestled in the Irish Hills. Logano is currently driving the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford for Penske Racing.

Newman, a native of South Bend, Ind., recorded back-to-back wins at MIS in August 2003 and June 2004. The driver is proud to consider MIS his home track.

Anyone with a pit and paddock pass can join the Q&A. But golden ticket winners will have their own special VIP section right in front of the stage.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series autograph session is another fun Fan Appreciation prize. The session will last from4:15-5 p.m., and is a great way to get your personalized autographs from the future stars of NASCAR. As well as meet the current stars of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Other Fan Appreciation prizes include a visit to the truck open garage from 4-5 p.m. and the Cup open garage from 5:15-6 p.m.

Located at the official MIS Welcome Center near the Start/Finish line, the Fan Appreciation Booth is stocked with a variety of prizes designated for golden ticket winners. Prizes include an Ultimate Fan Experience package, pace car rides, free Fan Vision controller, open garage access and much more.

Fans will need to bring their winning golden ticket to collect their prize. Non-winning golden tickets can also be redeemed for a second-chance drawing. By simply filling out the information card attached to each non-winning ticket, fans will be entered in a drawing for a 2014 Ultimate Fan Experience. The drawing will be held on Aug. 30 at noon.

The Fan Appreciation booth will open at 10 a.m. on Friday and run until 5 p.m., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Curtis and his staff are committed to providing its fans with memorable experiences each trip to MIS and the Fan Appreciation Program is an extension of that commitment. Fan feedback has also played an important role in many of the facility improvements that the speedway has invested over the last few years as well as the creation of the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) and Fan Advisory Network (FAN), which weighs in on many MIS initiatives.
