Greg Pursley is One of NASCAR’s Best and Most Feared Short Track Racers

greg-pursley_garage_nknpsw_phoenix_030113_1000A veteran of racing, Greg Pursley came to the forefront of drivers when he won one of the most coveted and difficult championships a driver strives to earn in 2004 – the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series (now known as the All-American Whelen Series) – National Championship.

Before winning that championship, Greg had plenty of experience in road-racing, motorcycle racing, Late Models and even the NASCAR West Series.  But once he won the Weekly Racing Series National Championship, Greg’s racing career took off.

Pursley hooked up with Gene Price as a crew chief, then drove Gene’s Late Model to a win in the NASCAR Toyota All Star Showdown at Irwindale.  From there, a partnership formed, and Greg has become one of the best and most feared short track racers in the country.

More recently on September 28th, Greg Pursley spoiled Derek Thorn’s quest for two consecutive K&N Pro Series West wins at NAPA Speedway, taking the victory in the NAPA Auto Parts 150, presented by NAPA AutoCare Centers. This win marks Pursley’s fourth win of the season and his 17th career victory. With the win, the driver of the No. 26 Gene Price Motorsports/Star Nursery/Real Water Ford, moves from third in the point standings to second, just 20 markers behind the series’ leader, Derek Thorn. There are only three more races remaining before a series champion takes the title.

Pursley, the 2011 series champion, now sets his sights on spoiling Thorn’s quest for a series title in his next race on October 12th at the All-American Speedway in Roseville, CA.

Greg Pursley is our next returning guest on Fan4Racing Fan2Fan NASCAR-NHRA Talk, on Monday, October 7th at 9pm ET.  Call 347-996-5176 during the LIVE broadcast to interact with Greg Pursley and our Fan4Racing team.
