Ty Dillon was in a race of his own Friday night at the Texas Motor Speedway. The No.3 truck absolutely crushed the field throughout the event en route to Dillon’s second victory of the season. He is doing all he can at this point in the season to chase down points leader Matt Crafton. Crafton had yet another solid performance giving him the potential of clinching the championship at Phoenix next weekend on the table.

Jeb Burton started the race on the pole, but Dillon got by the No.4 on lap one. Dillon held the lead at and beyond the first yellow-flag of the night. Brad Keselowski spun on the frontstretch while battling with Justin Lofton. Keselowski has never won a Camping World Truck Series race and his bad luck in a truck struck once again at Texas.

Dillon stayed out front in his own zip code until the third and last caution of the night tightened the field. The caution was for Kyle Busch who had blown a motor after a very unlucky night.

On the ensuing restart, Ryan Blaney snagged the lead away and held it until Dillon stormed back to the front with 31 laps remaining. It was all Dillon from there on as he sailed away to the victory.

The championship battle is becoming less and less of a battle as Crafton continues to keep up his consistent season. Second place James Buescher trails Crafton by 46 points which is more than a full race worth of points. To say Crafton has dominated the season would be an understatement. Dillon sits in third, one point back of Buescher and 47 behind Crafton. Luck will need to play Crafton a terrible card over the next two races if either wants to compete with the No.88 team. Crafton may get to celebrate his first career championship early next weekend at Phoenix.
