New year; New faces; New sponsors; New rules.

All that and more, make the Nationwide Series Preseason Thunder test a major success this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Twenty-five cars turned laps on the 2.5 mile high banks Saturday and Sunday, as teams tune up for the season-opening Drive4COPD 300 on Feb 22 at 1:15pm, broadcast on ESPN, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. Sunoco Rookie of the Year Hopeful Shines in First NASCAR Sprint Cup Test of 2014

Richard Childress Racing is hitting the road running fast at Daytona to start off their 2014 season. Austin Dillon is bringing the No. 3 back to the Sprint Cup Series as he contends for Rookie of the Year honors.  He knows the pressure that comes along with racing the No. 3 car made famous by seven-time champion Dale Earnhardt. But, apparently pressure is not an issue with an impressive performance in the No. 3 at the top of the speed charts on the first and only day of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series testing at Daytona. Dillon’s 195.109-mph run led all drivers in single-car runs during the practice session for the 56th running of the Daytona 500. (Feb 23, 1 pm ET on FOX) Continue reading

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 2014 Broadcast Schedule

All 22 events of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be televised on FOX Sports 1 with the exception of one race: the October 18 event at Talladega Superspeedway, which will air on FOX at 3:30 p.m. ET. The entire 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be broadcast by Motor Racing Network and can also be heard on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio channel 90.  Continue reading

NBC Sports Adds Steve Letarte to 2015 Broadcast Team

After several reports floating around on social media throughout the day, NBC Sports, Executive Producer Sam Flood made it official that they and Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Steve Letarte have reached an agreement for him to join NBC’s multi-platform NASCAR coverage beginning in 2015. The announcement is followed by a media conference scheduled for 8:30 am ET Friday at Daytona International Speedway, when more details will be discussed. Continue reading
