Greg Pursley began his racing career competing on two wheels, road racing motorcycles. He later switched to competing on four wheels, racing in the late-model class on the road course at Willow Springs Raceway in Southern California.

His pursuit of NASCAR late-model stock car competition included racing at the now-shuttered Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif., and Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (CA.), which became his home track.

Pursley turned his attention to the former NASCAR Southwest Tour, where he finished fifth in the championship standings in 2000 and 11th in 2001.

Making his début in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series at Bakersfield in 1999, Pursley raced the full season in series in 2002 and finished in the top-ten point standings. But between 2003 and 2008 focused on competing primarily at Toyota Speedway.

The last five years, Pursley has finished within the top-five of K&N Pro Series West drivers, highlighted by his championship in 2011.
