Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) was founded in 1986 and is owned by former NASCAR K&N Pro Series West driver, Bill McAnally, with one vision; winning races and championships. BMR is dedicated to finding talented people and placing them to make the racing machine roll.
McAnally won five championships in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. The first series championship was in 1999 with driver Sean Woodside in Motegi, Japan (the only NASCAR championship ever clinched outside the United States) in which McAnally gave race partner, NAPA Auto Parts their first championship in the West Series. That was followed by back to back championships with Nationwide Series driver Brendan Gaughan in 2000 and 2001. A fourth series championship was won in 2008 with driver Eric Holmes piloting the No. 20. It was the first series championship for Toyota. Holmes and the No. 20 team gave BMR’s race partners a fifth series championship in 2010. BMR took home top honors in the Inaugural Toyota All-Star Showdown in 2003 with driver Austin Cameron piloting their West Series entry.
Alumni of BMR include Camping World Truck Series drivers Jim Inglebright and Steve Portenga, IRL driver Sarah Fisher and Brian Herta, Sprint Cup drivers Clint Bowyer and Kerry Earnhardt, the NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Champion now Nationwide Series driver Peyton Sellers and NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Brian Ickler and Camping World driver Paulie Harraka. BMR also began a driver development program in the Whelen All American Series in association with the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Initiative. BMR brought D4D their first win in 2005 with driver Allison Duncan. She was also the first female ever to win a feature event at the historic Stockton 99 Speedway. Whelen All-American Series driver Paulie Harraka returned in 2008 for his second season with BMR and his third season with D4D. Harraka went on to give BMR and D4D eleven wins in the series competing at All American Speedway; winning the track championship, the first championship for Drive for Diversity. This made seventeen features wins for D4D with BMR. BMR and Harraka went on to give D4D its first and second Touring Series wins with podium finishes during Harraka’s rookie season in the K&N Pro Series.
Returning to BMR in 2012 piloting the No. 20 is the 2006, 2008 and 2010 K&N Pro Series West Champion, Eric Holmes. He finished the 2009 and 2011 seasons 2nd in the series championship points race. Holmes is ninth on the K&N Pro Series Career Victories record book which dates back to 1954. Completing the BMR grid in the West Series was Cameron Hayley piloting the No. 24. Fifteen-year-old Cameron Hayley made four starts in the K&N Pro Series West last season. He made an impression on fans and racers alike as he finished in second at Montana Raceway Park in his first start. He recorded two top-fives in those four starts and has set his sights on not only the rookie of the year title but also on being a contender in the chase for his first series championship all while juggling his high school class schedule back in Canada. BMR will have several drivers driving select races during the 2012 season. The 2012 season includes K&N Pro Series East driver Ben Kennedy, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion DJ Kennigton and from the GASS Series driver Chris Evans. Sprint Cup driver/owner Michael Waltrip drove a BMR prepared car in previous seasons as well as the current NASCAR Mexico Series Champion German Quiroga.
For the 2014 season, BMR is fielding two cars in the K&N Pro Series East with Cole Custer driving the No. 00 and Nick Drake driving the No. 15. The BMR organization is also fielding one entry in the K&N Pro Series West with Brandon McReynolds in the No. 16.
BMR is headquartered in the heartland of California, just 20 miles from the State Capitol, in Roseville.
