Ben Rhodes found himself in a very familiar place at Five Flags Speedway Friday night, once again in victory lane.
Rhodes passed his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) teammate Cameron Hayley with 17 laps to go for his third straight victory in K&N East. The rookie driver hung around the top-five all night and made his late race charge to the front for his fourth win in the last five races.
Pole-sitter Gray Gaulding led most of the first half of the 150 lap race before being passed by Rhodes before a lap 75 competition caution.
Rhodes then lost several spots before falling as far back as fourth-place on lap 100. He stayed in the top-five all night.
Brandon Jones slipped by Hayley in the end to grab second before the Canadian driver had to settle for third after spending some time out front. Rhodes, Jones and Hayley made it a 1-2-3 finish for TSM.
Former TSM drive Kenzie Ruston finished fourth after going a lap down early. Ruston drove the same car Ben Kennedy won with in last year’s race at Five Flags.
Gaulding rounded out the top-five after leading in the early going.
