The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West will make its second visit to Kern County Raceway Park on Saturday, August 30th for the Bakersfield 150 presented by GPS. Points leader Greg Pursley won the spring race from the pole and returns to the track with a 25-point advantage over second-place NASCAR Next driver Dylan Lupton. Pursley also won the inaugural event at Kern County last year.
Other drivers to watch in this weekend’s event include Brandon McReynolds, who recorded his career best finish, a second-place effort, at Evergreen Speedway. He trails Dylan Lupton by six points for second in the championship standings.

David Mayhew is coming off a victory in the NAPA Auto Parts/Toyota 150 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. It was his third win of the year, following victories at Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway and Iowa Speedway in Newton as the top-finishing K&N West competitor in the Spring event.

Gray Gaulding won the inaugural pole at the Southern California half-mile oval and finished 21st after being involved in a late-race accident. Pursley won the pole in the series’ May visit

NASCAR Next driver and 2013 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Rookie of the Year, Jesse Little, returns to the K&N West in the Bakersfield 150, his second series event of the season. Little finished fifth at Kern County earlier this season after making his series début in November 2013 at Phoenix International Raceway with a runner-up finish to fellow NASCAR Next class member Cole Custer. Little is the son of 1987 K&N West champion and current Managing Director of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Chad Little.

Taylor Cuzick and the No. 42 Freightliner of Arizona Ford are back in action this weekend for the first time since the Casey’s General Store 150 at Iowa Speedway. It will be the fifth K&N West event of the season for the 23-year-old Tolleson, Arizona, native, and likely not his last. The team and driver hope to run a few more events this season and are already thinking about 2015. Cuzick has top-ten finishes in all four of the events he’s competed in this year.

Greg Pursley is the only driver to win a series event at Kern County, visiting Victory Lane in both series starts at the .5-mile oval. Only four drivers – Pursley, Gaulding, Derek Thorn and Mayhew – have led laps at the track.
