ARCA Racing Series’ 2014 champion, Mason Mitchell is getting back behind the wheel of his No. 78 Mason Mitchell Motorsports Chevrolet in the Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 at Kansas Speedway this weekend.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Mitchell was in the driver’s seat at Iowa Speedway in July when he gave his team an emotional hometown victory.

“I am really looking forward to being back in a racecar,” 2014 ARCA champion Mason Mitchell stated. I thought that Berlin was going to be my final race of the 2015 season but the great folks at Karl Chevrolet stepped up big time and helped make this happen.”

In his 2012 1.5-mile début at Kansas Speedway, Mitchell finished with a solid seventh-place.

“I really enjoy racing at the Kansas Speedway. I feel like every time I have raced there as a driver I have been better. I can’t thank everyone on this MMM team for working extra hours to prepare this car and everyone at Karl Chevrolet allowing me to represent them. I believe we can take them to victory lane for a second time this Friday evening at Kansas.”

Mitchell has three previous starts at Kansas with two top-five finishes and three top-ten finishes. Mitchell’s best finish at the Kansas Speedway came in the 2013 rain shortened event when he finished runner-up.

As a part-time driver in 2015, 21-year-old Mitchell’s stats are impressive. In five ARCA starts in 2015 Mitchell’s earned one win (Iowa), three top-five’s along with four top-ten finishes.

Mitchell will be behind a familiar chassis for Mason Mitchell Motorsports this weekend with chassis 594. Noah Gragson raced the same chassis last month at the Kentucky Speedway. The chassis has four starts earning one top-five and two top-ten finishes.

The Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 at the Kansas Speedway is on Fox Sports 1 Friday, October 16th at 7:30 pm CST. ARCA is also offering live timing and scoring at Arcaracing.com for all on-track activity.
