Looking to turn around his 2018 season, Chase Cabre with Rev Racing is now headed to Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway for the Visit Hampton VA 150 on Saturday, April 28th. With two finishes this season outside the top-15, Cabre is looking to move his No. 4 team into top-ten or better this weekend and there’s a good reason for his optimism.

A second-year member of Rev Racing’s Drive for Diversity and NASCAR Next program, Cabre is also in his second year with NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East. Last season Cabre finished sixth in overall points with two pole awards to his credit and was runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award.

After a 19th-place finish at New Smyrna Speedway in February, Cabre ran into electrical issues at Bristol leaving him with a 26th-place finish at Bristol earlier this month. He now sits a disappointing 17th in the series’ point standings and Langley Speedway couldn’t come at a better time for Cabre.

In Cabre’s last K&N East trip to Langley in September 2017, he brought home an 11th-place finish. But his trip to Langley this weekend is not his first this season. Cabre has raced Late Models at the 0.395-mile short track including their season opener in March when in two events he placed fifth and sixth. Those results give Cabre some reason for optimism this weekend.

“I’m very excited to get Langley,” says Cabre, “I feel like racing there multiple times in the Late Models, and running well on opening night has given me and my team a huge confidence boost going into the weekend.”

Another reason for optimism this weekend is that the defending race winner, Todd Gilliland and last year’s series’ champion, Harrison Burton are not competing.

Fans can follow the action in the K&N Pro Series East, Visit Hampton VA 150 at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway, this Saturday, April 28th at 9 pm ET at NASCAR Hometracks Race Center.  NBCSN is broadcasting the race at 9 pm ET on May 3rd.
