FedEx and Hamlin are running a special paint scheme this weekend to support small business.

Denny Hamlin says his No. 11 car is short on special paint schemes, especially for the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This Sunday, the annual NASCAR Cup Series race is extra important because Hamlin’s FedEx car will carry a special message of support for small businesses in the US affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We all know that small businesses are the backbone of the US,” says Hamlin during a media teleconference on Thursday morning. “So FedEx actually has a grant program – you can go to FedEx.com/supportsmallgrants – you can go there and apply.”

FedEx giving their support throughout the COVID 19 pandemic is wonderful, though it is nothing new. The unique paint scheme for Hamlin’s No. 11 car in the Coke 600, is extra special in an extraordinary time.

“Having a special paint scheme, I always enjoy them,” continues Hamlin. “Hopefully, we’ll give them a good run.”

Hamlin’s Looking for a Win for FedEx and Small Business

This year, Hamlin is one of only two drivers with multiple wins in the Cup Series, so his season is off to a great start. Last year in the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte, Hamlin finished 17th despite having a decent car for most of the race. It seems he’s had this one circled on his calendar for a while. Hamlin wants to bring home a victory, in more ways than one, for FedEx and small businesses.

“Charlotte was a great track for us on the oval last year. We didn’t get a good finish, but we were super-fast, so the Coke 600 is one that is really the highest on my list right now of races I want to win.”

With several drivers running unique paint schemes and some others showing support to businesses affected by the COVID 19 pandemic, the racing action should be extra exciting to watch as they race for a good cause.
