Keselowski wins third race in the NASCAR Cup Series Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 on Sunday afternoon at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

After a small break, the NASCAR Cup Series heads north to race the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With only six points-paying races remaining in the regular season, several drivers are under the gun to clinch a playoff spot. Some seasonal contenders are right on the bubble, and the intensity will continue to increase as each race closes out.

The First Stage

Aric Almirola draws the pole position once again and barrels down into turn number one to take early control of the race. However, Brad Keselowski makes a quick pass for the lead on lap three.

On lap 16, an early caution comes out with Kyle Busch slamming into the wall. All the leaders came down pit road as Kyle Busch heads to the garage. Keselowski continued to hold his control over the race on the restart.

After the competition caution, Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski battle hard for the lead. Hamlin eventually clinches the top spot and without looking back. Denny Hamlin went on to win the first stage.

The Second Stage

Hamlin and Keselowski continued to battle heading into the second stage of the race. This time, Keselowski came out on top.

Two quick cautions came out involving spins from Christopher Bell and Matt Kenseth. Continuing to lead after both restarts, Keselowski battles with Hamlin, who is still trying for the top spot. Keselowski holds him off to win stage two.

Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski rolled into the final stage of the race with the lead and could not be denied. Despite a few battles on the restarts with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, Keselowski held him off to keep control of the race.

After a caution involving John H. Nemechek, the race moved into the longest green-flag run of the day. Brad Keselowski was able to take advantage, and win the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301.

The NASCAR Cup Series Point Standings

So far this year, ten drivers have clinched a playoff spot with a win. This means there only six playoff spots up for grabs among the bubble contenders. Tyler Reddick, Jimmie Johnson, and Erik Jones are the first three drivers outside the cut-off. However, all three drivers are within striking distance for the final spot. They will just need to run solid to close out the regular season.

Plus, with Daytona International Speedway hosting the cutoff race, the points contest will shake up the action. All NASCAR fans have this race marked down on the calendar, as this is the most anticipated race of the season. With all the uncertainty of the six remaining playoff spots and only a few races to capture one of the coveted spots, everyone is left wanting more. As the regular season winds down, there are questions to be answered. Who knows what the playoffs will bring?
