Christopher Bell’s Late Push to his First Cup Series Win

Christopher Bell's late push in the closing laps earns him his first NASCAR Cup Series win on the Daytona Road Course on Sunday evening.

The NASCAR Cup Series stays at Daytona International Speedway to run on its road course. Its 15-turn course takes the field through a winding infield before returning onto the superspeedway where drivers race down the backstretch to a tricky chicane. Cars and driver’s ability to control the brakes are so crucial in this course with all the tight hairpin turns. Brake failure often ruins a team’s day in road course racing.

Christopher Bell Earns First Win in NASCAR Cup Series on the Daytona Road Course

Christopher Bell earns first win in the NASCAR Cup Series on the Daytona Road Course by passing Joey Logano late on Sunday afternoon.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second consecutive week, Daytona International Speedway crowned a first-time NASCAR Cup Series race winner. Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Christopher Bell, earned the honor Sunday on the track’s road course, taking the lead from Joey Logano with two laps to go and pulling away to a comfortable 2.119-second victory over the former series champion.
