Spencer Boyd to honor A Child’s Wish Foundation at Richmond Raceway this weekend in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.
As the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series makes its way to Richmond Raceway this week, driver Spencer Boyd is lifting off the gas pedal to focus his attention on a particularly worthwhile and important cause. Boyd and Freedom Racing Enterprises have teamed up with A Child’s Wish Foundation to provide a unique trackside experience for Ashlyn Cardone, a young girl diagnosed with Kabuki syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that makes it difficult for those affected to participate in day-to-day activities.

Boyd will pilot his usual No. 76 Chevrolet Silverado but with a custom livery dedicated to the non-profit organization.
Ashlyn will serve as an honorary crew member for Boyd’s team during the race weekend. In addition to receiving pit road access, Cardone and her family will have the opportunity to experience race day garage operations, as well as a few unannounced surprises being kept under wraps by Boyd himself per his press release.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Boyd noted in his release that while motorsports are about pushing limits, it’s also important to slow down with perspective. By wearing the foundation’s colors around Richmond, Boyd aims to raise awareness to the important work of bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families navigating severe health challenges.
A Child’s Wish Foundation was founded by Alice and Arnold Amthor. The charity provides families with unique experiences designed to uplift their spirits in a way that is individualized to each family’s wants and needs. Collaboration with Spencer Boyd and Freedom Racing Enterprises gives the organization an excellent opportunity to promote its mission to a broader audience.
When the green flag waves at Richmond, the partnership will serve as a reminder that the sport’s greatest impact isn’t always measured by the finishing order.
