Larson looks to Kansas for momentum through the upcoming intermediate stretch for the NASCAR Cup Series Chase races.
As the NASCAR Cup Series enters a three-race span at 1.5-mile intermediate tracks, Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 for Hendrick Motorsports, thinks a good run at Kansas Speedway will do him well ahead of the next two races.

During Saturday’s media availability at Kansas, Reid Scearce from Fan4Racing asked Kyle Larson how important finding speed at Kansas is for setting up success for Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“Yeah, I mean with three mile-and-a-halves, you would love to come here and be solid and have speed because I think, yeah, that would give you more confidence as you go to Vegas and Charlotte,” Larson said.
Larson noted that the Cup Series cars have remained largely unchanged from previous races at the three tracks, meaning past performance can provide an indication of what to expect.
“The cars haven’t changed really ever, so if you were good there the previous time you went, you’re probably going to be pretty good when you go back again,” Larson said.
Tweaking Still Needed
Acknowledging his team has been competitive at Kansas, Larson knows they can still tweak some things to be better for the intermediate races to come.
“We were good here, just good, not great at these next three, but I think we’ll be better,” Larson said. “So yeah, just show up and see what you got.”
With Kansas starting the three-race intermediate stretch, Larson and Hendrick Motorsports will get a good look at where they are before heading to Las Vegas and Charlotte.
