Hocevar Unfazed by Bristol Fallout: “That’s just part of the games” is from media availability at Kansas Speedway on Friday.
Carson Hocevar isn’t concerned that fallout from his confrontation with Ryan Blaney at Bristol Motor Speedway could prompt further retaliation from other drivers. During Friday’s media availability at Kansas Speedway, Hocevar was asked by Reid Scearce at Fan4Racing about interactions with Josh Berry and Ryan Preece after the incident and whether Blaney’s retaliation could encourage other drivers to settle their own scores with him.

“No, I’m not worried about it,” Hocevar said. “I didn’t really hear what they were saying or whatnot, but I think it’s good for the sport.”
Hocevar acknowledged that Berry and Preece, both Ford drivers, would naturally be inclined.
“Obviously, they’re in the Ford camp and everything, and they’re going to back up their guy,” Hocevar said. “It’d be no different, roles reversed.”
The incident between Hocevar and Blaney became one of the major storylines following the recent Bristol race, with Blaney confronting Hocevar following the race, and a fight quickly ensuing afterward. The friction between the two drivers seemed to have ultimately subsided, but tension has continued among the rest of the garage entering the race weekend at Kansas.
Hocevar, however, doesn’t appear concerned that the situation will escalate further.
“I’m not too worried about that,” Hocevar said. “I think that’s just part of the games.”
For Hocevar, the interactions surrounding the Bristol incident appear to be another part of the competitive dynamics that come with NASCAR’s garage instead of something he believes will create a larger problem heading into the remainder of the season.
