In the midst of a tumultuous year at Richard Petty Motorsports, Kasey Kahne found himself looking at free agency at the end of the 2010 season. Richard Petty Motorsports, as it is known today, is the only team Kahne had worked with, since starting his Cup career in 2004. The team was then known as Evernham Motorsports. In early April, Kahne announced he would be leaving the organization and had signed with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2012 season. Continue reading →

Tony Stewart started the 2011 season very strong competing as a legitimate threat to win the first three races in Daytona, Phoenix and Las Vegas. Tony had the Vegas race in the bag, until he was plagued with a pit road issue, giving the win to Carl Edwards. With the 2011 Race in Homestead the championship crown is passed along to a new champion and the Jimmie Johnson, era comes to a close.  As fans are celebrating with a new champion in Victory Lane, the passing of this era will most likely go by, barely noticed by most. The new champion and everyone associated with his team, will celebrate well into the next day.  While Jimmie Johnson for the first time in five years will perhaps offer his congratulations and the quietly walk off into the evening with his family.  Continue reading →
