Busch Out Duels Keselowski for Chicagoland Truck Victory

As the laps wound down, the battle heated up. Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski were competing for the win for a good part of the night and it could have gone either way. It happened to fall Kyle Busch’s way as he held off a hard charge from Keselowski in the closing laps.

Jeb Burton won the pole and showed signs of dominance early. A bad pit stop left him deep in the field and Keselowski had exited pit road first. The first of many Keselowski/ Busch battles for the lead took place on the ensuing restart. When Keselowski got loose heading into turn 3, Busch was able to clear him for his first lead of the night. Sprint Cup Series GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Preview

geico_400The rest of the season starts Sunday. Race one in the Chase for the Sprint Cup will try to take center stage this weekend as it clearly has not been the talk of the garage. 13 drivers will embark on their championship pursuit and having a good race is integral to winning the title. One slip up at Chicagoland Speedway could cost any driver their hopes for the rest of the Chase. With so much on the line, anything can and will happen.

The GEICO 400 will go green on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at around 2:16 PM ET. Each one of the 267 laps and 400.5 miles will matter in determining who gets a crucial jump on this year’s Chase. Sunday afternoon’s weather forecast calls for a 40% chance of storms with the high temperature being around 63 F. Fans can watch the race on ESPN or listen to it on MRN. Continue reading

Edwards Wins, Logano, Truex Jr. Make Chase in Controversial Ending at Richmond

Saturday night in Richmond was expected to be wild, but it turned out to be even crazier than thought possible. It truly came down to the last few laps and one caution changed everything. A Clint Bowyer spin with seven laps to go shook up the Chase positions along with conspiracy-theorists again. Carl Edwards managed to sneak out with the victory and three more bonus points heading into the Chase. This night was far more complicated than imaginable and it will have people talking for a long time. Continue reading
