Formerly known as Dover Downs Speedway, the track was renamed in 2002 to Dover International Speedway and is located in Dover, Delaware. They broke ground in 1966 and opened in 1969 and host two cup events each year. It is a one mile oval with 24 degrees of banking in the turns and 9 degrees of banking on the straights. The surface is concrete, although it was asphalt until 1995 and now seats 135,000. Continue reading
Kurt Busch has officially announced his 2013 plans. Busch will drive for Furniture Row Racing in the No. 78 Chevrolet. This announcement comes during a frustrating season driving for Phoenix Racing. While driving for Phoenix Racing, Kurt Busch and the team have had many mechanical issues, pit stop issues and wrecks that have taken Busch out of contention of great finishes. Continue reading
The official 2013 Sprint Cup schedule is finally out. You can now book those travel plans for your favorite race. The schedule is practically identical to this past season so no one’s plans will change. Kansas Speedway, October 6, and Talladega Superspeedway, October 20, will swap back their original dates from 2011. The dates were swapped in 2012 due to the repave at Kansas Speedway.
