After a double-header weekend in Pocono, the NASCAR Cup Series carried the excitement to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. ‘The Brickyard’ is one of the most prestigious tracks on the Cup Series schedule. The race is also a crown jewel event and is on the bucket list for many drivers to win a race here.

In an action-filled afternoon of NASCAR Cup Series racing in Sunday’s Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Powered by Big Machine Records, Kevin Harvick held off the field in an overtime sprint to the finish line to earn his fourth victory of the season, and his second consecutive and third overall win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Post Pocono Power Ranking for the NASCAR Cup Series as they get ready for racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.

Last weekend’s Pocono doubleheader was supposed to be the first of its kind. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it wasn’t the first time this season that two races were run in the same week. However, with NASCAR Cup Series races run on Saturday and Sunday, it was the first time in NASCAR history that two races for points were held at the same track on consecutive days. With the races shorter than usual at 325 and 350 miles respectively, fuel strategy reigned supreme, allowing Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin to get another victory to add to their already impressive seasons.

NASCAR All-Star Race Format includes a chance to test the new ‘Choose Rule’ to add strategy to restarts at Bristol Motor Speedway later this month.

NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway have put together the format for the NASCAR All-Star Race, including the introduction of a ‘choose rule’ that will allow drivers to choose which lane they line up in for restarts.

The rule, which is popular among short track fans, will fittingly make its NASCAR national series debut during the first NASCAR All-Star Race held on a short track. NASCAR and Speedway Motorsports officials have previously announced the race is moving to Bristol from Charlotte Motor Speedway, which had hosted 34 of the race’s 35 previous editions.
