Austin Cindric Wins Again for his Fourth Victory

Austin Cindric wins again in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Henry 180 on Saturday at Road America for the fourth victory in his last five starts.

Austin Cindric wins again in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Henry 180 on Saturday at Road America for the fourth victory in his last five starts.

Earning the victory in Saturday’s Henry 180 NASCAR Xfinity Series race on the historic four-mile Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisc., Austin Cindric was able to hold off traffic on numerous restarts. It was an elongated afternoon of competition that included wet and dry conditions and 13 dramatic lead changes.

NASCAR: Two procedure changes for all three national series given before playoff races, starting at Michigan International Speedway this week.

NASCAR is incorporating the ‘choose rule’ into the restart procedure for all national series races except those held on road courses and superspeedways (Daytona and Talladega). The rule made its NASCAR national series debut during the NASCAR All-Star Race at Bristol Motor Speedway last month. As drivers approach a designated spot on the track, they must commit to the inside or outside lane for the restart. The rule will add strategy and is especially important on those tracks that have a distinctly dominant lane on restarts; the drivers will have their choice of track position or the preferred lane as the race returns to green flag conditions.

NASCAR Cup Series

In the NASCAR Cup Series, all ten playoff venues and dates remain intact from the original 2020 schedule, with the postseason kicking off at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 6, on NBCSN at 6 pm ET, and culminating with the crowning of a champion for the first time at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 8, on NBC at 3 pm ET.
