Dale Earnhardt Jr. is joining the FOX NASCAR television booth as a guest driver analyst for FOX Sports 1’s live coverage of the NASCAR XFINITY Series race from Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, June 11 at 1:30 PM ET. Earnhardt Jr. will team with FOX NASCAR play-by-play announcer Adam Alexander and analyst Michael Waltrip to offer analysis for the entire race.
Earnhardt will be the eighth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver to serve as a guest driver analyst in the FOX NASCAR booth in 2016, following Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Danica Patrick.
For a while during Monday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Axalta ‘We Paint Winners’ 400 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, it appeared that Chase Elliott would score his first career victory, but when the checkered flag waved, the Hendrick Motorsports rookie settled for fourth.
Elliott, the 2014 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion saw his winning chances disappear following a restart when he was battling teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the race lead. An aggressive move in the tricky Tunnel Turn forced Elliott to burp the gas, which allowed Kurt Busch who was riding third to pass the Hendrick Motorsports duo and never look back. Continue reading →
An on-going track feud between drivers Ryan Reed and Ryan Sieg escalated Saturday afternoon at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway when a red flag for rain halted the NASCAR XFINITY Series debut at the 2.5-mile triangle just past the halfway point.
Tension between the two drivers from last weekend’s race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway carried over to Pocono and only deepened when the two made contact on Lap 24.
The contact sent Sieg into the turn one wall and eventually to pit road where he lost two laps for repairs.
Sieg vented his frustration to the Roush Fenway Racing driver in the garage area during the rain delay which ended with expletive words, pushing and shoving. Continue reading →
