Pocono Raceway Announces NASCAR Schedule for 2020 Doubleheader Weekend

Next year’s Pocono Raceway schedule will feature a longer weekend, shorter Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races but considerably more racing action at the 2.5-mile triangular track.

Ryan Vargas Driving for a Cause

The list of young and up-coming stars in NASCAR Xfinity 11th Annual U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway is long, with six of the nine 2018 NASCAR Next class being entered, highlighted by Ryan Vargas making his series debut.  From La Mirada, California, the 18-year-old is driving the No. 15 JD Motorsports Cranio Care Bears Chevrolet.  Also an alumni member of the Drive for Diversity program, Vargas is thankful, looking to make the most of all opportunities he is given.

Shigeaki Hattori: The Man Behind Hattori Racing Enterprises while Merging International Racing Cultures

Hattori Racing Enterprises is an anomaly within NASCAR ranks as they participate in the K&N Pro Series East along with the Gander Outdoors Truck Series, where they won the championship title last year with Brett Moffitt. And that’s because their participation in the sport gives the two series an amazing international exposure that is driven by the man behind the organization. That man is Shigeaki Hattori who came to the United States from Japan at the age of 30 in 1995.

David Hyatt: Iowa Speedweeks is About the Fans

Former president of MRN radio, David Hyatt knows what it takes to give the fans what they want after 20 plus years at the helm.  He brings that same mentality to his current role as president of Iowa Speedway, now in just his second full season in the position.  With the races in 2019 scheduled the way they were, the race track ended up with doubleheader race weekends back-to-back, making for a very busy couple of weeks hosting the NTT Indy Car Series, the ARCA Menards Series last week and both the K&N Pro Series and Xfinity Series under the NASCAR banner this week.  But as the saying goes, sometimes you have to make lemonade from the lemons you are given and Hyatt saw this as an opportunity to maximize fan interaction, thus Iowa Speedweeks was born.
