NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series is home to seasoned veterans and rising stars.

From NASCAR Next members to second generation drivers and fresh faces looking to make a name for themselves, take a look at the younger ‘drivers to watch’ this weekend at Martinsville Speedway

Saturday’s Kroger 250 marks the first Camping World Truck Series race of the season that drivers between the ages of 16 and 18 can compete. Wheelmen from that age group can only race on road courses or tracks 1.25 miles or less in length. Continue reading

Making his second track début of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, Rookie of the Year contender, Cameron Hayley continues to impress in just his fifth start in the series at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday evening. On Friday, he was the fastest ThorSport Racing driver – 3rd (31.06 seconds) – in the only series practice session and then again in qualifying – 3rd (30.89 seconds) – on Saturday morning. Last season’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visit to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario proved a battle of the sport’s young blood with Chase Elliot at 17 years and nine months, shaking off Ty Dillon at 21 years and six months, on the last lap to become the youngest winner in NASCAR national series history – a record broken two months later by NASCAR Next member Erik Jones at 17 years, five months, nine days.

Sunday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 could make history once again as John Hunter Nemechek at 17 years and two months and NASCAR Next prospects Gray Gaulding at 16 years and six months and Cole Custer at 16 years and seven months have a shot to break the record for youngest race winner. Conflicting Reports Surround Turner Scott Motorsports

TSMlogoSeveral media outlets are reporting this afternoon that Turner Scott Motorsports is shuttering their Camping World Truck Series operations as of 3 pm this afternoon. While there are confirmations that some Turner Scott Motorsports employees were temporarily laid off as of 3 pm Wednesday afternoon.  There is reason to believe it is not the entire Camping World Truck series operation that is shuttering, but possibly one team.   Continue reading
