Dover Extends SAFER Barriers and Increases Stall Space on Pit Road

Dover International Speedway extends SAFER barriers along backstretch, into turn three entrance; increases stall space on pit road

Dover International Speedway has completed two projects that extend SAFER barriers by almost 500 feet along the backstretch and into the entrance of turn three and expand the pit stalls along pit road by two feet each. The work comes before the Monster Mile’s latest NASCAR tripleheader weekend on May 13-15. New asphalt has also been added along the area behind pit road, from the entrance of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage down to the Start-Finish line. Continue reading →

William Byron Gets First Truck Series Win in Wild Kansas Race

William Byron remembers watching NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races when he was six years old.

Now 18, Byron has a win in the series he watched as a child. But it took a strong truck and a stroke of good luck for Byron to win Friday night’s Toyota Tundra 250 and reach Victory Lane at Kansas Speedway for the first time in five series starts.

Driving the No. 9 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports, Byron was third when frontrunner Johnny Sauter led Ben Rhodes into turn three on the last lap of overtime. Continue reading →
