Hemric, Nemechek on Verge of Chase Elimination

Daniel Hemric and John Hunter Nemechek have plenty of work to do to advance in the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase.

The two drivers are each 15 points below the cutoff line heading into the final race of the Chase’s Round of 8 – Saturday’s Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway at 1 pm ET on FOX. If they cannot make up the ground at Talladega, they will be dropped from the championship hunt.

Hemric boasts five top-three finishes in his last six starts, including two runner-up showings, but lost ground in the Chase with his 28th-place performance at New Hampshire in that stretch. In his lone start at Talladega last season, he placed 28th. Continue reading

Team Little Racing has been rebranded JJL Motorsports and will make its first appearance under its new name when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) hits Texas Motor Speedway on Nov. 4.

NASCAR Next alumnus Jesse Little will pilot the No. 97 Toyota Tundra in the Longhorn 350 before ending their season with the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway two weeks later on Nov. 18.

JJL Motorsports is owned by Jason Little, uncle of Jesse Little and brother of former NASCAR driver now executive Chad Little. The family affair has kept the racing niche in their blood with a recent emphasis on building JJL Motorsports into a namesake within the NASCAR industry for years to come.  Continue reading

Note: With only one race remaining in this round, repeat winner would expand to mean any driver that has already been eliminated or any driver that is currently in a transfer spot (a spot where if the round was over today, would have moved on).

Possible to Clinch:

Christopher Bell (0 Wins, 2062 Points) – Would clinch on points with 23 Points (tenth and no laps led, 11th and led at least one lap, 12th and led most laps) and a new winner. If there is a repeat winner, would clinch on points with nine Points (24th and no laps led, 25th and led at least one lap, 26th and led most laps). With a win, would clinch a next round spot on wins. NASCAR announced on Tuesday, a multi-year agreement with Old World Industries (OWI) to make PEAK title sponsor of the NASCAR Mexico Series, which will run a full slate of races in 2017 and ensuing seasons.

The NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series will kick off with an exhibition race on Dec. 3-4 in Mexico City. Its tenth season will begin in 2017 with a full championship schedule that will be announced at a later date. Continue reading
