F4R-XS-News-Notes-TemplateThe NASCAR XFINITY Series teams will return to action in two weeks for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Teams will race 200 laps for 300 miles on Friday, April 8th. FOX Sports 1 will begin their pre-race show at 8 pm ET with the green flag at around 8:30 pm ET. Fans can also listen to the race on PRN or SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Daniel Suárez Extends Lead in the Point Standings for Third-Straight Week

Suárez Takes Over Points Lead, Hits Major Milestone

On the strength of three consecutive top-tens to start the season, Daniel Suárez took the points lead for the first time in his young – and impressive – career.

Ty Dillon has one goal on his mind for the 2016 – a NASCAR XFINITY Series title.

“It’s winning races or bust for me,” Dillon said. “I know with that will come a championship opportunity. So we get locked in that Chase, you have to win the races, just like they have in the Sprint Cup Series.”

for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

New Collaborative Business Model for Owners and Tracks Now in Place for 2016

During a historic event held today in Charlotte, N.C., NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France joined with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team owners to announce a landmark long-term agreement that provides teams with increased business certainty and the ability to work more closely with NASCAR to produce best-in-class racing.

In effect as the 2016 NASCAR season prepares to kick off this weekend, the new Charter system addresses three key areas – participation, governance and economics – to promote a more predictable, sustainable and valuable team business model. The agreement grants NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Charters to 36 teams, establishes a Team Owner Council that will have formal input into decisions, and provides Charter teams with new revenue opportunities including a greater interest in digital operations. A business-like, perhaps even somber, Clint Bowyer walked into the press room to discuss the closing of Michael Waltrip Racing at the end of the 2015 season. The 36-year-old driver, who is only eight months into a three-year contract is now a free agent. Bowyer feels that although the future holds a lot of unknowns, he appreciates his time at the company.
