Gilliland Matches 50-Year-Old K&N Pro Series Mark with Fourth Straight Win

Todd Gilliland’s unbeaten streak has reached historic proportions.

The 15-year-old Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, driver went from third to first following a late-race restart at Kern County Raceway Park en route to capturing Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts 150. It was Gilliland’s second NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win in as many starts this season. More impressively, it was Gilliland’s fourth win in his first four career NASCAR K&N Pro Series starts.

With the win, Gilliland matched the record set by International Motorsports Hall of Famer Dan Gurney. Gurney won the first four NASCAR Pacific Coast Late Model Series races he entered — combination races with the then-Grand National Series at California’s old Riverside Speedway. The Pacific Coast Late Model, which began in 1954, has evolved into the current NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. Continue reading

Bill McAnally Racing is a powerhouse organization in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West with over 60 victories and six series championship titles, including the 2015 champion, Chris Eggleston.  In 2014 team owner, Bill McAnally expanded their operations to include entries in the K&N Pro Series East, becoming the only team to field cars in both series.

Most teams are in the process of building for the 2016 season and breaking news on Fan4Racing Radio Monday, November 23rd, McAnally shared their partial 2016 lineup, telling our crew that returning next year is this year’s champion Eggleston, who was signed for the 2015 season after winning his series début at Colorado National last year. In 13 races this year, Eggleston has earned two wins with one at Irwindale Speedway in April and one at Shasta Speedway in May. Along with those wins are nine top-fives and 11 top-ten finishes contributing to this year’s championship campaign. Continue reading
