The clock struck one for rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. on Saturday afternoon at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, as he earned his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in the Kroger 250.

By claiming the victory, Wallace Jr., who turned 20 on October 8 became the first African-American driver to win a NASCAR national touring series event since Wendell Scott won in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) on December 1, 1963 in Jacksonville, Fla., a span of five decades. Continue reading

NASCAR D4D CombineLangley Speedway’s repaving last winter provided an added challenge for the 20 drivers participating in the 2013 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. Not only did the already tough .4-mile oval get faster, it meant even the drivers who had previously competed in the Combine there faced new conditions.

NASCAR D4D Combine20 Drivers Slated To Compete For 2014 Seat With Rev Racing 

As the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program approaches its ten-year anniversary, NASCAR and Rev Racing have selected the participants for the 2013 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. The drivers will participate in a rigorous on- and off-track evaluation process for the opportunity to join the NASCAR D4D program and compete for Rev Racing during the 2014 season. Number 17 pays off big for Timothy Peters in Las Vegas

Timothy Peters took advantage of a rare mistake by Ron Hornaday Jr. on the last restart at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to win the Smith’s 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.

Peters started 12th and when the last caution came out late in the race, he was running second to Hornaday, who is known for his prowess on restarts. When the green flag flew with two laps to go, Hornaday spun his tires and Peters powered to the lead. As Hornaday faded back, Peters held off Johnny Sauter to record his seventh career victory, his second of the season and his first in Las Vegas. Continue reading

225Camping World Truck Series drivers head to Chicagoland Speedway for the EnjoyIllinois.com 225 on Friday, September 13th. Television coverage begins at 8pm ET with radio coverage on MRN, Sirius XM, channel 90.  The green flag waves at about 8:30pm for 225 miles and 150 laps of racing action. 

Will history repeat back-to-back for James Buescher?

Similar to last season, the second half of the season is proving 2012 series’ champion James Buescher’s time of the year. Buescher picked up his first win at Iowa Speedway on Sunday and now he returns to Chicagoland Speedway where he won last year.  With his second victory in the last four races, the Texas native now sits just 37-points behind points leader Matt Crafton.
