New Trucks, Young Drivers in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

NASCAR Next Drivers Top Preseason Thunder Speed Charts At Daytona

Brand-new Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota trucks made their debuts on Monday at Daytona International Speedway.

It’s safe to say that they suit the NASCAR Next generation just fine.

NASCAR Next drivers Jeb Burton and Ben Kennedy drafted their way to the top of the speed charts during NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Preseason Thunder at Daytona testing. Burton churned a blistering lap of 191.144 mph, just slightly better than Kennedy’s 190.925. Both were driving next generation Chevrolet Silverados for Turner Scott Motorsports.  Continue reading

Chad Boat Approved to Run Nationwide Opener

After posting the fastest time in the Nationwide Series test at Daytona on Sunday, NASCAR has approved rookie driver Chad Boat to run the Nationwide/NNS opener.

His fastest lap of 47.929 seconds (187.778 mph) led the afternoon session of the test on Sunday.  It is also his first time racing in a NNS car on the high banks of Daytona.  Continue reading

All that and more, make the Nationwide Series Preseason Thunder test a major success this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Twenty-five cars turned laps on the 2.5 mile high banks Saturday and Sunday, as teams tune up for the season-opening Drive4COPD 300 on Feb 22 at 1:15pm, broadcast on ESPN, MRN and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
