Looking back on 2013, NASCAR had a remarkable year. From storylines galore to scandals that challenged the sport’s credibility, NASCAR never stayed quiet. Going into the year, there were many more questions than answers. Fans wondered what was to come from all the ‘newness’ the sport was expecting which included the Gen 6 car and drivers in new rides. A forgettable 2013 season for Denny Hamlin ended on a high note Sunday afternoon at Homestead-Miami. Despite dismal performances throughout the year, Hamlin was able to bring a little light to his season with a win.  This victory will continue Hamlin’s streak of seven straight seasons with at least one win. Harvick Grabs Phoenix Win as Tenure with RCR Nears Finish

As 13 successful years with Richard Childress Racing comes to a close for Kevin Harvick, he potentially earned one last win with the team on Sunday. It was his second straight victory in the November Phoenix event and once again on Sunday, the win came with a dramatic turn of events. Keselowski Takes Checkers in Texas Nationwide Race

Once again during Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series race at Texas, it was the No.22 car in victory lane. One of the most dominating seasons continues for the Penske Racing entry. This victory is the No.22 car’s twelfth on the year and Keselowski’s sixth. The owner’s championship is very much within reach for this team and this race solidified that point.

A Penske parade was up front early when Sam Hornish Jr. took the lead from Alex Bowman on lap five and then Keselowski passed Hornish Jr. one lap later. After the Penske stint up front, Joe Gibbs Racing held the top positions for mostly the mid-part of the race. Continue reading →
