RFK Racing No. 6 Team Penalized 100 Points, Fined $100,000

RFK Racing No. 6 team penalized 100 points, fined $100,000 after an R&D inspection process after the NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta.

NASCAR officials issued an L2-level penalty to the No. 6 Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team on Thursday morning, penalizing the team 100 driver points and 100 owner points to significantly impact its path to the postseason.

After finishing 12th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona last weekend, Ben Rhodes rallied his ThorSport Racing No. 27 team to a fourth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday in the Active Pest Control 200. It was Rhodes second start at the 1.54-mile track where his began the race in 15th-place and ran as high as second place. Continue reading

On the Outside, Cameron Hayley Still One to Watch in Inaugural Truck Series Chase

Coming into Chicagoland Speedway this weekend ThorSport Racing driver, Cameron Hayley knew he needed to win to get into the inaugural Chase for the NASCAR Camping World Truck championship. With results of 13th and 17th in the first two practices and a 20th-place qualifying effort for the American Ethanol E15 225, the No. 13 crew chief Eddie Troconis made wholesale changes to give his driver a chance at victory.

Despite starting at 20th, Hayley battled his way to the front to contend for the win in the closing laps of the event. He ran as high as second giving his team hope for a victory. But the veteran Kyle Busch, the eventual race winner effectively blocked Hayley’s faster Toyota, keeping from realizing that goal.  Continue reading

Racing his second race of the season, in his second year with ThorSport Racing, Cameron Hayley earned his career-best NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finish of second in the Great Clips 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams are returning to the track at Talladega Superspeedway next weekend for the Fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola. Teams are preparing for 250.04 miles, 94 laps of action that will air on FOX at 1 pm ET on Saturday, October 24th.

Standings Snapshot: Crafton Gains on Jones, While Reddick Remains in the Hunt

No one has been able to pull away in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points standings this season.

Erik Jones could have put some distance between himself and second-place Matt Crafton as the defending Las Vegas race winner, but failed to do so. Crafton finished eighth at Las Vegas to cut Jones’ lead to four points after Jones placed ninth. Continue reading
