Just as the Duck Commander 500 looked as though it was over, a game changing late yellow-flag made for a wild final restart. Joey Logano led before the last caution, but strategy by other teams on pit road led to Logano to restarting third. With six different Sprint Cup Series winners in the first six races for the season, the question now is, will there be a seventh different winner at Texas Motor Speedway?

Kurt Busch set a Chase for the Sprint Cup era record the moment he hit the finish line to close last Sunday’s race at Martinsville Speedway – six different winners in the first six races of the season. More amazing is that Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson – the top two winners in the 2013 season – are not among that group.  Neither are marquee winners Kasey Kahne or Greg Biffle or Jeff Gordon or Denny Hamlin. Kurt Busch Overcomes Early Race Skirmish and Scores Martinsville Victory

For the first time since 2011, Kurt Busch was in victory lane Sunday afternoon when he held off Jimmie Johnson late in the race at Martinsville Speedway. After a slow start to his season in which Busch failed to finish inside the top 20 for the first four races, the No.41 team has found their comfort zone. Kyle Busch Avoids Tire Issues and Wins Auto Club 400 in Overtime

In a race that saw tire problems turn the contest upside-down, Kyle Busch won Sunday’s Auto Club 400 in a green-white-checkered-flag finish that took the fifth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event of the year six laps past its scheduled distance.

The first driver on four fresh tires for a restart on Lap 205 at Auto Club Speedway, Busch passed Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart on the next-to-last lap, bringing rookie Kyle Larson with him. Continue reading
