It will be their time to shine. The Nationwide Series has a rare stand alone weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway this weekend, allowing some of the series’ best to take the spotlight. A few Sprint Cup drivers will also be in the field, but for the most part, it will be the Nationwide Series’ best going for the victory. Reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski and Penske teammate Joey Logano are set to showcase their acting skills on the small screen. Pit strategy enables Matt Kenseth to Sprint Cup Series best – a fourth win

After postponing the Quaker State 400 from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, due to rain at Kentucky Speedway, Matt Kenseth and his team raced to their fourth victory of the season.

On a restart on lap 247 – 20 laps short of the race total – Kenseth took advantage of a spin by the race’s dominant #48 car with Jimmie Johnson.  Kenseth took over the lead by taking no tires during his earlier pit stop on lap 242, collecting his 28th career victory. Continue reading

Dicing through the pack toward the end of Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series Race at Michigan allowed Regan Smith to take the lead after Parker Kligerman had to pit. Kligerman played the rain game, but failed and that left a golden opportunity for Smith. This is win number two for Smith on the season and increases his point lead to much more than a full-race. It all came together for Smith and allowing him to leave the track in a better place than he entered on Saturday.  Continue reading
