NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams are on break and will return to action on Friday, September 18th at Chicagoland Speedway for the  American Ethanol E15 225. In the meantime, here are some news and notes to stay up-to-date.

Austin Powered: Theriault Piloting the No. 29 for Duration of 2015

Austin Theriault will take the reins of the No. 29 Brad Keselowski Racing Ford for the last eight races of the 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. The 21-year-old Maine native has piloted the No. 29 five times already this year, earning two top-five and three top-ten finishes. Theriault’s best result was a fourth-place finish in the season opener at Daytona. The No. 29 has visited Victory Lane twice this year with Joey Logano at Martinsville and Ryan Blaney at Bristol. The No. 29 ranks sixth in the owner points standings. Continue reading

International Speedway Corporation today announced a new partnership with DraftKings, a leading daily fantasy sports destination. DraftKings will serve as the ‘Official Daily Fantasy Sports Provider’ of ISC motorsports entertainment facilities.

At ISC facilities across the U.S., tracks will feature DraftKings branding and give on-site opportunities for fan engagement. ISC will communicate DraftKings NASCAR daily fantasy sports games through event-day announcements, broadcast, digital and social channels and through a significant presence on MRN, the nation’s largest independent sports network. Johnson Secures Third Win of the Season at Kansas

Thanks to a brief but wild Kansas spring storm and the long delay it produced, Jimmie Johnson on Sunday became the first NASCAR Sprint Cup driver to win a race on Mother’s Day since 2007.

Johnson, who is pursuing a record-tying seventh Sprint Cup Series championship this season, held off Kevin Harvick over the last six laps to win Sunday morning’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Johnson’s victory – which was just after midnight local time because of a delay of 2 hours and 16 minutes – was his third of the season and his third at the 1.5-mile Kansas oval.

“It was a long, hard night,” Johnson, who led just ten laps and spun out unassisted early in the race, said in Victory Lane. “Once we got up front, we were able to hang on.”

Gordon’s Numbers Gaudy At Kansas

This Jeff Gordon guy is pretty good.

Every week, it seems like the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to a track where Gordon has posted some hefty numbers.

This week is no different.  The No. 24 Chevrolet driver’s statistics at Kansas Speedway – site of Saturday’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400 are downright gaudy. Gordon boasts a track record with three wins. Additionally, he claims ten top-fives in 18 starts at the 1.5-mile track – a whopping 55.6 percent. Continue reading
