A strategy-filled Kobalt Tools 400 came down to the very last lap on Sunday. It was Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. coming up half a lap short as his fuel tank ran empty while he was motoring down the backstretch with victory in his sight. Kobalt 400 to Feature Newly Introduced Aerodynamic and Chassis Changes

 

Forty-eight drivers from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series turned laps at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Thursday to further build upon the 2014 intermediate-track rules package that was formalized late last year.

Serving as the first official NASCAR test with the new 2014 rules package in place, today’s four-hour session allowed teams to prepare for Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway – the series’ first visit to a 1.5-mile track in 2014 – and beyond.  Continue reading

Hauler parade, free NASCAR test session kick off Vegas NASCAR Weekend;

Race start times also set for Kobalt 400, Boyd Gaming 300

The annual parade of haulers down the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and a free day of NASCAR Sprint Cup testing will kick off the annual NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway beginning Wednesday, March 5.

The hauler parade will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5 on the south end of the Strip. It will proceed north to Sahara Avenue before heading north on Interstate 15 to the speedway. On Thursday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams will be testing the new rules package from noon to 4 p.m. The grandstands and Neon Garage will be open for free to all race fans. Continue reading
