Asian-American Rookie Kyle Larson Captures Top Starting Spot at Pocono

Kyle Larson has become a familiar name among NASCAR fans as a stand out rookie in the Sprint Cup Series 2014 season. This weekend he adds another accomplishment to his résumé as the Coors Light Pole Winner at Pocono Raceway.  Larson is the first graduate of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity (D4D) initiative to win a pole in the Sprint Cup Series. Darrell Wallace Jr. Holds On for Victory in Thrilling Eldora Race

In one of the most dominating performances the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has seen this season, Darrell Wallace Jr. ended up in victory lane Wednesday night at Eldora Speedway. Despite his lack of dirt-track racing experience, he was able to beat some of the best in the business en route to victory.

From asphalt to dirt, the Camping World Truck Series transitions to the high-banked clay oval of Eldora Speedway on July 23 for the second consecutive season. The only dirt track on the schedule, Eldora will challenge even the most seasoned of veterans as it remains unique to the truck series among national series schedules.

Eldora is the only race to award the winner a golden shovel that helps to carry on the “ceremonial digging” tradition instituted at the inaugural event, when the race winner scoops dirt from the track as a keepsake. Chase Elliott, JR Motorsports Continue Impressive Season with Chicagoland Victory

In another outstanding performance, 18-year old Chase Elliott made it to victory lane for the third time this season. The No. 9 team stole the show throughout the night as they proved early on they were the ones to beat at Chicagoland Speedway.

Brian Scott began the race on the pole and held the lead through the first yellow-flag of the race for Sam Hornish Jr.’s expired engine. However, he would not be able to hold off Elliott for long. The rocket-ship Elliott had first appeared out front on lap 21. Continue reading
