For Rookie of the Year candidate, Cameron Hayley the 2015 season has been impressive and especially in the last four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races with consecutive top-ten finishes, including a tenth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday night.

The ThorSport Racing driver, topped the charts in the last practice session on Thursday night, then Hayley qualified 14th in this No. 13 truck on Saturday afternoon. Hayley’s top-ten finish in the WinStar Casino 350 was also his 12th of the 2015 season.  Continue reading

Erik Jones repeats in Phoenix truck race as second power failure halts action

With lights flickering around Phoenix International Raceway, polesitter Erik Jones won Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race when the second power failure of the evening halted the race after 126 of the a scheduled 150 laps.

The clear class of the field, Jones led 114 of those 126 laps. Though the lights came back on after the second stoppage, NASCAR called the race because of the possibility that the power would fail again while the trucks were racing at full speed, as had just happened on Lap 124. Continue reading

A season full of first-time winners added another name to the list Friday night at Phoenix when Erik Jones drove into victory lane. Jones, 17, has been competing on a part-time basis in the Camping World Truck Series with Kyle Busch Motorsports this season. A runner-up finish at Iowa earlier in the season showed Jones’ potential and now a win marks his presence in NASCAR. Continue reading
