After the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series battle changed dramatically with a wreck involving the two series leaders, Timothy Peters held off John Hunter Nemechek to win Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Peters beat Nemechek to the checkered flag by 0.309 seconds to record his first victory at the one-mile speedway, his second of the season and the tenth of his career.
But the real drama occurred 30 laps before Peters crossed the finish line in the 150-lap event. The dominant trucks of series leader Erik Jones and two-time defending champion Matt Crafton fell out of contention, wrecking during an intense battle for the lead. Continue reading →
Erik Jones put on a dazzling performance at Texas Motor Speedway where counterpart Matt Crafton normally dominates, leading 117 of 147 laps to win last Friday’s WinStar World Casino 350. Jones’ victory marked his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win at Texas and his third checkered flag of the season. He also posted a near-perfect 149.5 driver rating. Continue reading →

After completing a successful campaign in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East this season – fifth in the series point standings and third in the Rookie of the Year standings – Rico Abreu is now set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series début with NTS Motorsports in the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. For Rookie of the Year candidate, Cameron Hayley the 2015 season has been impressive and especially in the last four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races with consecutive top-ten finishes, including a tenth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday night.
The ThorSport Racing driver, topped the charts in the last practice session on Thursday night, then Hayley qualified 14th in this No. 13 truck on Saturday afternoon. Hayley’s top-ten finish in the WinStar Casino 350 was also his 12th of the 2015 season. Continue reading →
