The reasons why fans adore the Bristol Motor Speedway were on display during the truck race Wednesday night. Classic Bristol showed up to put on quite a wild show. Action was evident throughout the race and a photo finish was the perfect end to the night. Kyle Busch edged out Timothy Peters in an ending that would fit the term “checkers or wreckers” perfectly. Pulling away from runner-up Matt Crafton during a four-lap run to the finish, Kyle Busch won Friday’s Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway.
Busch sped away after a restart on Lap 197 of 200, as Crafton and third-place finisher Ryan Blaney battled for the second spot.
The victory was owner/driver Busch’s second of the season, his second win in a row, his third at Dover and the 32nd of his career. Chase Elliott, who started on the outside of the front row, overcame two pit road speeding penalties to finish fourth, one spot ahead of Brendan Gaughan, who posted his fourth straight top-five finish. After an off and on start to the season for the Camping World Truck Series, the race this Friday at Charlotte is the start of the main part of their season. When they last raced at Kansas, Matt Crafton took home the victory and his win solidified the fact that ThorSport Racing is off to one hot start this season with Crafton and Johnny Sauter.
