Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 Preview

Nationwide Series drivers début their first 203.22 mile, 90 lap race at Mid-Ohio on Saturday, August 17th with a green flag at 2:30pm ET. The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is the series’ second road course event in two weeks and television coverage begins at 2pm on ESPN with radio coverage on MRN and Sirius XM channel 90. 

Only 12 race events remain before a new NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion is known and predicting the outcome is becoming more difficult with every passing weekend. After Saturday’s race at Watkins Glen, only 74-points separate the top-ten drivers in the point standings. Tenth-place Parker Kligerman could theoretically make up the difference in only two races, although that’s not likely.  Continue reading →

Kyle Busch saves fuel, wins 58th career Nationwide race at Loudon

Despite a snafu in the pits that cost him six positions–temporarily–Kyle Busch steamrolled the field in Saturday’s CNBC Prime The Profit 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Never mind that it took the maximum three attempts at green-white-checkered-flag finishes before the issue was decided, and never mind that the extra laps left the gas tanks of most competitors either empty or very close to dry at the conclusion. Continue reading →

Making the Right Moves Leaves Regan Smtih in Victory Lane at Michigan

Dicing through the pack toward the end of Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series Race at Michigan allowed Regan Smith to take the lead after Parker Kligerman had to pit. Kligerman played the rain game, but failed and that left a golden opportunity for Smith. This is win number two for Smith on the season and increases his point lead to much more than a full-race. It all came together for Smith and allowing him to leave the track in a better place than he entered on Saturday.  Continue reading →

One of the dominos has fallen into place as one of the rumors that had been circling since the end of the season has finally been answered.

One rumor that was brought up in our Nationwide Silly Season article posted last week, involved Parker Kilgerman and where he would call home for the 2013 season. Parker was officially announced as the driver of the no. 77 Kyle Busch Motorsports – KBM – entry for the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.

KBM took to YouTube to make the official announcement Tuesday, having Parker climb out of an unfinished car that only had numbers made from tape to represent the car number. Continue reading →
