Hey race fans, catch our NASCAR Weekend Preview with host Sharon Burton and Hunter Thomas, our guest panel member. Joining us is Chris Knight with the latest news from the track.

We’re chatting about all the hottest topics and what fans can expect at the track over the upcoming weekend of racing at Phoenix International Raceway for the ninth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series,as well as the XFINITY, Camping World Truck Series and the K&N Pro Series West season finale.

When possible, we’ll bring  guests from around the NASCAR world to give their perspective too. Joining us is Rico Abreu, with NTS Motorsports as he is making his Camping World Truck Series début this weekend at Phoenix.

Rico Abreu Set for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Début with NTS Motorsports

After completing a successful campaign in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East this season – fifth in the series point standings and third in the Rookie of the Year standings – Rico Abreu is now set to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series début with NTS Motorsports in the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. Pending NASCAR approval Abreu will be back behind the wheel of the No. 31 for NTS again at Homestead Miami Speedway for the season finale.  Continue reading

Jeff Gordon has already clinched a spot in the Championship 4.

Regardless of the finish of any other driver…

Kyle Busch will clinch with a finish of 3rd or better; 4th and at least one lap led; or 5th and most laps led.
Kevin Harvick will clinch with a finish of 2nd or better; 3rd and at least one lap led; or 4th and most laps led.

Martin Truex Jr., Carl Edwards, Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch and Joey Logano only control their own destiny with a victory. Logano can ONLY make it to the Championship Round with a win at Phoenix.

For Rookie of the Year candidate, Cameron Hayley the 2015 season has been impressive and especially in the last four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races with consecutive top-ten finishes, including a tenth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday night.

The ThorSport Racing driver, topped the charts in the last practice session on Thursday night, then Hayley qualified 14th in this No. 13 truck on Saturday afternoon. Hayley’s top-ten finish in the WinStar Casino 350 was also his 12th of the 2015 season.  Continue reading

NASCAR Reaches Five-Year Sanction Agreements with National Series Tracks

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Will Visit 23 Markets in 2016;

Popular ‘NASCAR Goes West’ Returns for Second Year

NASCAR today announced agreements with 23 tracks to field NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races for the next five years. Additionally, 24 tracks will host NASCAR XFINITY Series races through 2020.

NASCAR also announced its 2016 schedule for both of these national series. The schedule and actual placement of the dates within each given season’s schedule beyond 2016 will be part of the on-going discussions between NASCAR and the tracks. Details are being finalized for the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule to be announced at a later time. Continue reading
