NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 10 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, is scheduled to appear at Phoenix International Raceway’s ROLL-BAR Club for a question-and-answer session with NASCAR fans before The Profit on CNBC 500 Presented by Small Business Fueling America NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, March 2.

Patrick is scheduled to appear at 9:50 a.m. MST.  She will be followed on the stage by her new Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Kevin Harvick, who is scheduled to appear at 10:00 a.m. MST on Sunday. Big Names Officiating Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 at Phoenix

American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze will perform the national anthem before the start of the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 presented by Cotton, The Fabric of Our Lives®, NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, March 1, PIR President Bryan R. Sperber recently announced.

DeWyze released his début album with Vanguard Records, Frames, last fall. He released two albums before his audition for Idol as the lead singer for the Lee DeWyze Band – So I’m Told in 2007 and Slumberland in 2010.

The Grand Marshal for the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 will be Kevin Rogers, the President of the Arizona Farm Bureau Federation and the President of the Arizona Cotton Growers Association. Kevin is a fourth-generation Valley farmer who, together with his family, farms over 7,000 acres of land in the Valley of the Sun.

Diann Prechel, the former Director of Cotton Incorporated’s Board of Directors, will serve as the Honorary Starter and will wave the green flag to signal the official start of the race. She is a partner in Cotton and Bailey Farms and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona.

Gates for the Blue Jeans Go Green™ 200 will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, with the green flag dropping at 1:45 p.m. Tickets for the race start at $15 and may be purchased online at PhoenixRaceway.com or by phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223).

Thorn Celebrates First K&N Pro Series West Championship

Gray Gaulding won the Casino Arizona 50 on Saturday night at Phoenix International Raceway, while Derek Thorn was celebrating the series championship.

From Lakeport, CA, Thorn earned his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Championship with a 15th-place finish – enough to hold off a trio of strong contenders. Cameron Hayley snagged second place by a mere six points, with 2011 series champion Greg Pursley in third (-16) and Michael Self taking fourth (-24).  Anyone watching the series knows there has been a hot contest in the west with these four contenders exchanging the lead throughout the season.  Continue reading

Harvick Grabs Phoenix Win as Tenure with RCR Nears Finish

As 13 successful years with Richard Childress Racing comes to a close for Kevin Harvick, he potentially earned one last win with the team on Sunday. It was his second straight victory in the November Phoenix event and once again on Sunday, the win came with a dramatic turn of events. Harvick didn’t have the lead until the last lap, after Carl Edwards ran out of fuel just one lap short of victory. Continue reading
