NASCAR Drive for Diversity (D4D), the leading youth development program for multicultural and female drivers, will head into the 2014 season with one of the most well-rounded and accomplished rosters in program history.

The 2014 class is led by Daniel Suarez, who contended for two NASCAR touring series championships last year, and Ryan Gifford, who is coming off a successful 2013 season, in which he  earned his first NASCAR win and made his NASCAR national series début. They will be joined by a group of talented newcomers looking to make their mark in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.  Continue reading →

Day 2: NASCAR Drive For Diversity Combine Hits The Fast Track At Langley 

NASCAR D4D CombineLangley Speedway’s repaving last winter provided an added challenge for the 20 drivers participating in the 2013 NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. Not only did the already tough .4-mile oval get faster, it meant even the drivers who had previously competed in the Combine there faced new conditions.

Bryan Ortiz, a Puerto Rico native, is with Rev Racing and part of NASCAR‘s Drive for Diversity program for the third consecutive year in 2013.

Ortiz made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East début at Bristol Motor Speedway in March 2012 and finished the season fifth in the overall standings and second in rookie points on the strength of nine top-ten finishes across the 14-race season. Ortiz was a three-time winner of the Sunoco Rookie of the Race Award and the season-long Coca-Cola Move of the Race Award. Continue reading →

Mackena Bell Racing Her Way in NASCAR

Mackena Bell, 23, is from Carson City Nevada and currently racing in NASCAR‘s K&N Pro Series East. Competing in her fourth season with Rev Racing after running a schedule in 2012 that included 18 starts in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with one pole, three top-fives and 15 top-tens.

In 2007, Bell moved up to race full-size stock cars and hasn’t looked back. She competed in her first full season in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at All American Speedway in Roseville, California.

In 2008 with her family-owned race team. She was the youngest female competitor in the late model division, and in 18 starts had three top-fives, 11 top-tens and completed the season ninth in points after missing four races. Continue reading →
